Our Mission
The Downtown Fort Pierce Farmers Market is committed to providing healthy, fresh foods and horticultural products to St. Lucie County and the surrounding areas, while encouraging commerce, entertainment and trade in Downtown Fort Pierce.

Providing a unique and diverse venue for the benefit and enjoyment of all
The Downtown Fort Pierce Farmers Market provides a venue for the sale of produce or products to residents of, and visitors to, St. Lucie County and surrounding counties. The Market is a 501 C-3 organization whose tax-exempt status is directly related to its encouragement of commerce, entertainment and trade in Downtown Fort Pierce. The Market strives to display the city’s history, uniqueness, charm, and potential, in order to further enhance the appeal of St. Lucie County.
The Market seeks to have a mixture of produce, seafood, sauces, plants, food, beverage and product vendors that maintains the unique character of a Farmers’ Market. The ideal market vendor will have grown the product he or she sells, or will have produced the item out of locally grown products. A market vendor can also be someone who provides enhancement to the market experience; for example, a vendor who sell beverage and food products for consumption at the market for the on-site enjoyment of the patrons.
Fort Pierce… a charming small city steeped in history

Fort Pierce, known as the Sunrise City, has served as the hub of St. Lucie County for over 100 years. Nestled quietly in the heart of the Treasure Coast – a region named after the sinking of a famous Spanish treasure fleet in 1715 – Fort Pierce is one of the oldest communities on the east coast of Florida. Incorporated in 1901, this charming small city has grown from 300 pioneers to over 45,000 residents today and encompasses approximately 29 square miles.
The revitalization of the historic downtown is perhaps the city’s most recognized achievement. Fort Pierce was awarded the 2005 City of Excellence Award by the Florida League of Cities for overall excellence in city government, and in 2011, Main Street Fort Pierce received the Great American Main Street Award from the National Trust for Historic Downtown Preservation. In 2015, Fort Pierce was named one of USA Today’s Most Idyllic and Historic Main Streets in America.
